Understanding Patient Care
print friendly version
Patient care takes on a different meaning in SingHealth Foundation.
The transition from hospital to home can be difficult to the families of disabled and elderly patients. Many patients can barely afford the post hospitalisation basic equipment and therapy. Funds raised for the
SGH Home Care programme
provides financial and medical assistance to the needy and the frail elderly of the community.
Patients with facial and intra-oral defects resulting from cancer treatment, trauma or congenital deformities are faced with high cost of implant supported prosthesis. Most of these patients are already depleted financially after their cancer treatments. With funds provided for the
Oral & Craniofacial Rehabilitation Programme
at National Dental Centre, comprehensive rehabilitative care is being provided to needy patients at subsidised cost.
SingHealth Foundation takes healthcare service one step further by supporting the
Arts for Health
programme. Art therapy programmes using artistic and cultural activities helps provide therapy comfort and healing to the patients.
